Our 45 Lake County school districts are financed by our property taxes. Each district has highly paid staff but oversea only one or a few schools.
Why 45 districts in Lake County when Kenosha County Wisconsin has only 2 unified school districts (each overseeing many schools)? If you compare by population, this is the equivalent of Lake County having only 8-10 school districts.
We can't continue to fund school district largess when the Midwest's highest property taxes are driving us out of our homes! By signing this petition, we demand the districts be consolidated.
- Find a balance of maximizing school district consolidation with minimal impact on jobs and quality of education.
... and use the savings exclusively to lower Lake County Illinois property taxes.
Signed petitions will be forwarded to the Lake County Board and Administration; Regional Superintendent of Schools; all of our relevant elected officials and anyone else we find has a say in this.
