This development at 1180 S. La Brea Blve (at 12th) was approved by the city without a Traffic Study or an Environment Impact Report because it falls under the Transit Oriented Communities Development (TOC – which means ½ mile to a transit stop).
67 Unit Mixed Used Apartment; Unlimited Height – proposed 75 ft/7 stories high
24 months of construction starting Jan 2019 (current tenants given August 2018 eviction)
76 residential units, but only 94 residential parking spots = residents parking on streets
3-5 commercial businesses, but only 18 parking spots for them = customers parking on streets.
Parking access for the entire property will be on 12th street = vehicular traffic congestion at 12th and even more cut-through traffic on 12th, Highland, Citrus, Longwood, Tremaine.
SIGN and SHARE. We need to inform all neighbors (renters and owners alike). This will affect you.
This project is TOO LARGE to be situated at the edge of our residential neighborhood and will only exacerbate traffic, safety and parking issues based on the size, the entrance and the limited parking to all of it's tenants. 12th is a small residential street and La Brea is already backed up with congestion most of the day. The neighbors on Citrus will be dwarfed by this 7 story building along with the noise of retail customers.
