Tell South Carolina to reject a bill that would execute women for having an abortion!

Legislators in South Carolina have introduced a bill, HB 3549, that would equate an abortion of a fetus or an embryo to the murder of a living person — which would allow the state to convict and possibly even execute a person if they get an abortion.

The bill is so vaguely written that it could even apply to women who have miscarriages, cruelly adding the fear of prosecution on top of the heart-shattering grief a mother would feel at losing her child.

Tell the South Carolina legislature to stop creating new ways to punish women for controlling their bodies!

South Carolina Republicans have been working non-stop to try to find new ways to restrict abortion after the state Supreme Court ruled their six-week abortion ban was unconstitutional — and this is their most extreme attempt yet. At least 20 members have signalled their support for this bill.

The idea of executing a woman for having an abortion or prosecuting a mother who lost her child is beyond appalling. We need to let the men in the South Carolina legislature know that the people won't stand for this injustice!

Tell South Carolina to reject a bill that would execute women for having an abortion!
