ICAO: Deny access to airplanes to those who shot down a civil aircraft in DR Congo.

"A complaint for crime against humanity has been introduced in Belgium against the minister of the congolese State in charge of Justice, Alexis Thambwe Mwamba. Brussels has decided to open an investigation.

According to the Libre Belgique, the judge Michel Claise has recently been designated by the public prosecutor of Brussels to be in charge of the instruction in a case against Alexis Thambwe Mwamba, minister of Justice of the democratic republic of Congo, on the basis of a complaint for crime against humanity introduced by the lawyer, Alexis Deswaef it’s been almost a month. The lawyer representing several families of victims of a drama that can be likened to a terrorist act : the crash of an airplane in 1998, the congolese Rally for democracy (RCD) had claimed responsibility for the attack, and by the voice of one of its leaders, Alexis Mwamba himself, on the antennas of the RFI, says the belgian daily newspaper.

At the time, the rebellion was fighting in eastern Zaire the troops of Laurent-Désiré Kabila, who had just taken power after the flight of Mobutu. Alexis Thambwe would have justified the firing of the missile on the aircraft by the fact that the latter was on the point of land at Kindu with military pro-Kabila at its edge. But several witnesses confirm that the plane had taken off from Kindu with civilians". ( Source: Africa Report on Business at https://africareportonbusiness.com on 06/18/2017)
