Ian Somerhalder is responsible for sending a whole lot of adorableness out into the world!
The "Vampire Diaries" star and noted animal lover posted an image on Thursday of dogs that he once counted as pets and who've now found new homes.
He wrote a sweet caption: "Our puppies!Growing with their new families!Wow.I feel a tremendous amount of pride knowing that these beautiful creatures were born in my home and raised to be exceptional beings.Im so in love with them-Could not have been possible with out an entire team of amazing people.Looking their beauty, i wonder how could anyone EVER want to hurt or abandon creatures like this???Animal abuse, abuse in general- just can't understand it... Some of the pups are clearly the offspring of Somerhalder’s dog Nietzche, whom he rescued in August after finding her in the street near the set of his show in Atlanta. In October, Somerhalder shared Instagram photos that showed her nursing a litter of eight that had just been born, with the 35-year-old's co-star and friendly ex, Nina Dobrev, on hand for support.
Somerhalder, who's also the proud owner of two cats, cares about his furry friends so much that he's been honored by the Humane Society, testified before Congress on behalf of wildlife conservation, and in 2010 established the Ian Somerhalder Foundation to protect animals and the environment. The easy-on-the-eyes actor has even revealed plans to build an animal sanctuary in his home state of Louisiana.
He's not just kind to animals, though. Somerhalder also sent a sweet message to Dobrev on her 25th birthday Thursday. "Happy Birthday @ninadobrev !!! The world loves you!We all do;) Enjoy the moment, enjoy the day,enjoy the year!" he tweeted.
Aw … and the puppies are pretty cute, too!
