Save The Animals of OC Animal Shelter from Death

Allow me to explain why I started this petition and why I'm updating it. Allow me to explain why getting more signatures is important to me.

There is an animal shelter in Orange County California called OC Animal Care Shelter. I would like to contact the board about changing some of their policies about giving their animals more time and giving people trying adopt or rescues for these sweet animals. To get them to start metworking these babies much sooner so that there's fewer animals being euthanized.

Let me take a moment to say I know there's a big animal population and shelters are over crowded but I also know if all work together we can save these animals.

It is not they're fault if they're surrender because someone decided they no longer want them or can't take care of them because they're sick. If someone thought they were taking up to much time. If they were removed from the home because they were abused. They ended up in the shelter because they were put on the street or born on the street.

These animals can offer the world and people so much and comfort. Puppies who can be trained to be K9 officers, service dogs. Older cats and dogs who can be therpy animals or comfort animals at vet hospitals, nursing homes, children hospitals or even in the hospitals with patients who are terminally ill. Of course just a loving furry family member.

Now here's why I started this petition. I was on animal network site. When I came across postings regarding four dogs who had until July 10th before they euthanized. Oreo, Oso, Daryl and Selleck.

Like just about everyone else on that site I began sharing the post, looking for rescue groups to get them before it was to late. I emailed the shelter and pledded for an extension of time for them.

Such beautiful dogs who justed wanted to be loved and love back; to feel safe. In this shelter, living in cages. Being afraid in unfamiliar place. Probably afraid because of what they went through before they got there. Maybe there were meanshelter workers there.

All these dogs touched my heart but one pulled at my heartstrings the hardiest and can explain why. Selleck was his name; a German Shepherd who was only a year and a month old. Maybe that's why he tugged at my heart. He was only puppy still, with puppy eyes and looked the most frightened and confused. He was facing a death sentence. Did he know?

Even though I never even got to pet him, I began calling my dog and I became determined to help him ,Daryl, Oreo and Oso.

The shelter posted about these wonderful two days before they were to be euthanized. Not enough time but we still tried. People all over the country wanted to come and adopt these dogs but were turned away.

They were to be euthanized July 10th 2022  but somehow made it until July 12th 2022 and I thought  it's going to be ok . They're going to be adopted or rescues are coming.

Sadly that was not the case. The next morning I found out through Angels for Animals Network news that left me in tears.

Selleck, the puppy I began to call my dog was euthanized on July 12th, 2022 on Tuesday at 7 PM. I keep thinking as they walked him to his death did he know what was going to happen?

Then news came about Daryl a Seven year old German Shepherd was Euthanized the same night.

I fear Oreo and Oso met the same fate.

As I write this another German Shepherd named Lily is on death row. She's only four years old. She's been at that shelter since February of 2022. Why are they waiting so long to network her. Her euthanize date is July 25th 2022.

Why are they waiting so long?

This is just one step. I plan on writing to board of the shelter, news papers and government officials. I know I have battle.

I need you guys. I am now pledding with you to sign this petition. Petition this shelter to start networking this animals as soon as possible. To find these animals families and rescues sooner.

Give me numbers on this petition so I can show them that I'm not the only one.

Lily is a 4 year old German Shepherd who is spayed. She's been at The OC Shelter since February. They have given her a few days. She's suffering from Kennel stress and lossing weight. She will need time to decompress from being there for five months. If your interested please make an appointment to meet her. They'll turn you away if you don't have one. Other wise start contacting rescues. I will be back with more information on her later. I hope whoever reads this caught it.
