PETITION TO REINSTATE LISA GRAZIANO AND REVERSAL OF RECENT MANAGEMENT DECISIONS

We are gravely concerned about the recent staff changes that have transpired within Henrietta Hudson Bar and Girl. Throughout the years we have considered this establishment as our second home where it has become more than just a bar. It has become a safe haven for most of us where personal relationships have developed amongst the lesbian community and the community in general. Long-term staff members have also become acquainted with many people in the neighborhood and their pets, all of whom have actually enjoyed strolling by for their daily treats. It is hard enough for people in our society to feel comfortable anywhere, let alone become accustomed to the recent staff changes. These changes have cut our ties to those who we essentially considered an integral part of our community. As co-owner and operator of Henrietta Hudson Bar and Girl for many years, Lisa Graziano aka Lisa G, has been an intricate part of the LGBT community. She has made it possible to create a space where all lesbians could build meaningful connections every night of the week- for 20 years!

Since the beginning, Lisa G has gone above and beyond to promote Henrietta Hudson along with loyal staff members. She has participated in various fundraisers over the years further representing Henrietta Hudson in a positive light.  She has been a constant face, which has provided customers with a sense of camaraderie and familiarity whether they had gone with a crowd or alone. She has always made people feel safe and welcomed.

We believe that an establishment is as good its employees. We actually really love Henrietta Hudson, however, we are very disappointed with the decisions made within the few months. We respectfully petition for Lisa Graziano’s reinstatement and a reversal of many of the recent management decisions even down to the freedom of wearing a hat. We are hopeful you will be able to grant us the honor of such an appeal as it is of great significance to us - your loyal customers.
