Please sign and share this petition in an effort to save the habitat in Arizona that is presenting a danger of extinction to many of its resident birds. Birds like the yellow-billed cuckoo bird is in danger of survival if something is not done to protect its critical habitat.

In Tucson, Arizona, many of the resident birds such as the yellow-billed cuckoo is in danger of extinction due to the areas of public land where the various birds call home. The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is proposing to designate over 500,000 acres as critical habitat for the cuckoo, which is also being considered for endangered species designation. A spokesperson states that "The critical habitat under the Endangered Species Act provides protections from federal actions that might degrade the critical habitat, or destroy it, so that it's not usable by whatever endangered or threatened animal it's been designated for." This is their only chance for survival.

The yellow-billed cuckoo is a songbird that lives along rivers and streams throughout the west in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. Their habitat is now been impacted by dams, livestock grazing, water withdrawals, and river channelization. Saving the water and streams is imperative for the life of this and other birds, wildlife and even for humans.

We need to save birds like yellow-billed cuckoo from extinction by protecting their habitat, which is often the number one reason for the disappearance of our beautiful wildlife; they become displaced and endangered. Federal Government for Wildlife and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service - We appreciate your efforts in trying to protect all the public lands, rivers and streams throughout the west in Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Texas, Utah and Wyoming. This is the major habitat for various species of birds like the yellow-billed cuckoo and other wildlife. Without efforts to protect their habitat, many of these birds will be in danger of extinction. Please implement plans that ensure the safety and protection of the habitats, rivers and streams where these animals call home.
