Stop Hurting Elephants on the Name of Religion

India is the land of different cultures and believers even a huge population worships the animals. However, recently, when I went to visit India, I saw that elephants are used in various cultural and religious customs and activities but at the Chottanikkara that is a located in Kerala state, three elephants were chained and these people were going to use them into a pomp.

When I glanced at their legs and feet, there were number of wounds even they were suffering badly and unable to touch the ground. There were deep ulcers and swelling on their legs that were very painful for them. I am not saying that they should not use animals in religious rituals but this badly unjust without proper care and treatment.

Therefore, via this petition, I demand from animal authorities and government officials of India to emphasize on the proper health treatments of all elephants that are being used in ritual activities. In my opinion, basic animal rights come too before Goddess and administration of temples should not use chains or other accessories that hurt animals what do you say?
