Sorry Johnny Depp! We Need to Cast a Latino To Play Gomez in Netflix’s Addams Family’ Reboot

Filmmaker Tim Burton is believed to be making a reboot of The Addams Family as a TV series for Netflix.
Rumours have been swirling around that Burton wants his go-to star Johnny Depp to play Gomez Addams. Gomez was played in the original 1991 film by late Puerto Rican actor Raul Julia . As of last year, Guatemalan-Cuban actor Oscar Isaac, voiced him in an animated movie. Many people have been discussing the excitement and potential disappointment if Gomez wouldn't be latino. No one can deny the importance of representation and having characters express culture identity , but one cannot feel strange if he wouldn't be latino.

Although one may not have an issue with Gomez being someone else, can we truly deny the fact that Gomez acts as a telenovela star who sword fights like Zorro and is obsessed with romance. His full moustache and tango dancing abilities. I'm sure we can find a latino actor who would love to fill in the role and represent his community. Let's unite and do this for Gomez's family.
