THIS IS FOR L.A. RESIDENTS. PLEASE SHARE WITH YOUR FRIENDS.
THIS IS A GLORIOUS PROPSAL. HERE IT IS:
Hey Kelly,
They DO NOT MAKE IT EASY TO LEAVE THE MESSAGE
On Wednesday, October 23, the Los Angeles City Council will consider a proposal to ban the cruel use of bullhooks—devices with sharp hooks on the end that are used by circuses to hurt and punish elephants.
That's where YOU come in!
We need your help to make sure that the City Council votes for the bill and protects elephants who come to Los Angeles.
What you need to do:
E-mail the City Council members and urge them to vote in favor of the bullhook ban.
Feel free to use the sample note at the end of this e-mail, but remember that using your own words is always more effective. You can e-mail the council members by copying this e-mail block:

Sample note:
As a Los Angeles area resident, I am writing to urge you to support a ban on the use of bullhooks! Circus trainers gouge and beat elephants on the most sensitive parts of their bodies with bullhooks in order to punish the elephants and force them to perform uncomfortable, unnatural, and often painful tricks.
Please join a growing list of compassionate and progressive municipalities—such as West Hollywood, which passed a ban on the commercial display of exotic animals just last month—by voting in favor of the bullhook ban and protecting elephants who come to Los Angeles!
Thanks for speaking up for elephants!
