C&C Real Estate Ltd is acting to reopen an old mine in the heart of Pilis, Natura 2000 area. Natura 2000 is a European Green network of core breeding and resting sites for rare and threatened species, and some rare natural habitat types which are protected in their own right.
Thousands of old trees wanted to be cut, so C&C Real Estate can start mining on this 3 acres - on a 30,000 m2 forest area. With the exception of the mining area, this is the only forest in Pilisvorosvar where thousands of people go out to recharge, hike, ride a horse, ride a bike, escape the city smog, noise and enjoy the rest of nature. The mine would drive away any nesting birds living here.
Timing is crucial, it happens when forests of the Earth are being destroyed by fires.
