Ursula Franklin Academy Uniform Petittion

The Ursula Franklin Academy Uniform Policy states that the uniform aids in the development of a sense of equality and helps to maintain a strong sense of community.

We the undersigned believe that The Ursula Franklin Academy Uniform Policy does not promote equality between students nor does it have a significant impact on the strong sense of community present at Ursula Franklin Academy. Not only do the students of Ursula Franklin Academy live in a non discriminatory environment, we do not feel the uniform promotes equality. The Ursula Franklin Academy uniform is: expensive and unattractive, its complexity defeats the purpose of a uniform, and it represses the freedom of expression inherent to all individuals. Ursula Franklin Academy’s community would not be affected by the removal of The Ursula Franklin Academy Uniform Policy as it’s sense of community is not one-dimensional.  What makes Ursula Franklin Academy’s community so special and unique ranges from our enriched Wednesday sessions to our high academic scores and general camaraderie.
