This is a very disturbing "trend" that has authorities baffled and someone needs to help them with tips that can lead to solving this horrific problem quickly.
In the past two months, according to Basil Scott, president of the Kauai Community Cat Project, more than 50 cats have either disappeared or killed. Mr. Scott states that “We’ve had some shootings, poisonings, plus one intentional running over. There’s five places where we are very certain, or fairly certain, that people are killing cats. And some of it is crazy."
Crazy it is because some witness report sporty type shootings happening late at night in public areas. They have also reported seeing dead and dying cats so why is nothing being done!! A security guard witnessed one of the shootings of a cat that involved several men shining a spotlight on the cat from a car before firing at it. This is horrifying!! Mr. Scott continues to say "This is not only a violation of animal cruelty laws but is also prosecutable under firearms and public safety laws. We’re talking about guys who have been drinking, who have loaded firearms in the car, which is illegal." Please help the Police Department with any tips leading to a resolution of this problem. Additionally, the Humane Society is offering a reward that can lead to an arrest of any and all perpetrators. Save the lives of this innocent felines.

The Kauai Hawaiian Police Department - Please step up your investigation regarding the serial killer(s) of cats throughout Hawaii. People have given you tips on seeing some of these bad acts; still the perpetrators are still out there terrorizing the community of felines "just for fun." Please follow these and all leads and arrest any suspects until you get all of these abusers off of the streets. If they are targeting sweet, innocent animals, who knows what or who will be next! Get these guys off the streets for a long time, punishing them severely! They should be charged a felony for each and every animal they have harmed and/or killed. Please help and make the area safer for all beings; make the guilty accountable and be a voice for those they have harmed and killed!
