(NOTE: This petition is for non-NH residents to express their support and stand in solidarity with bobcats. If you live in New Hampshire - and ONLY if you live in New Hampshire - please sign this version instead! It is important that we keep the lists of signatures separate in order to best persuade the state government. Thank you!)
Update: On October 14, 2015 the backwards thinking NH Fish and Game Commissioners voted to move forward on a proposal to hound, bait, and trap NH's bobcats. There is still a chance to stop this. Signing this petition is important part of the effort.
Bobcats in NH have not been trapped since 1989. However, trapping of bobcats may soon be legal again in NH, if our opposition to trapping them is not expressed and heard. On January 21, 2015, the NH Fish and Game Commission gave approval to begin looking into opening a hunting and trapping season. Thus this petition and request for you to sign it. Trappers want to exploit bobcats to be able to sell their furs (pelts) for around $350 each, a significant chunk of money and incentive to trap them. This petition will be used to tell NH F&G and the NH Legislature that the public wants bobcats to be classified as a non-game species, not to be trapped or hunted ever again in NH. Thank you for signing.
