Recently, the Board of County Commissioners agreed to consider the idea of banning the retail sale of dogs and cats in Collier County. Currently, a proposed pet store that would sell them is under construction.
Please join us and other leading animal care organizations in opposing the retail sale of dogs and cats as it presents critical animal welfare, public health and safety, and consumer protection concerns. Of particular importance to local animal shelters' mission is finding homes for the many unwanted animals in Collier County and beyond. We have and will continue to work with any retail partner that places healthy adoptable animals in their centers.
Tell commissioners why you support a ban on the retail sale of dogs and cats in Collier County. Please ask our commissioners to keep our community, people, children, elderly and our pets safe!
Along with signing this petition, you can email each commissioner directly. The more voices they hear in support of a ban, the more likely it is to become a reality. A ban on the retail sale of dogs and cats would be a victory for the animal rescue organizations in our county and, most importantly, a big win for the animals we all serve. We want to show importance of this issue!
PLEASE attend the Commissioners Meetings on 10/8/19 @ 9 am at the Collier County Government Building, 3301 Tamiami Trail E, Bldg F, Naples, FL 34112 (NE corner of Airport and US 41) to show your support for the proposed ordinance which would ban the retail sale of puppies and kittens in any pet store in Collier County. Send your co-workers, send your friends, send your neighbors – we need a strong, united showing of support before the Commissioners to encourage them to pass this ordinance.

From all of us showing up on 9/24/19 at the BCC we got it as an agenda item, now we just need the support of attendance or if you cannot attend please email the commissioners above. We are almost there and I think we can win this!
