Time to make the Kenosha pier beach and lighthouse safer and cleaner.

Too many people have jumped off of the pier or have tried to swim out too far and have been injured or killed after getting sucked down by the currents. There are many ways to remedy this. One is to install railings as a deterrent but that doesn't always work. The other is to enclose the swimming area with a wooden walkway from the left side of the pier with a railing and fence underneath similar to the one in Lajas, Puerto Rico. They can jump off the left side and be able to pull themselves up if they encounter trouble. This pier is owne by the army Corp, the rest of the beach area is not. This is not to blame the city. There has already been so much wasted on a boardwalk to nowhere and a trolley that goes in circles. We can at least make a family friendly swimming area. The beach also needs to be cleaned up, it's always littered with garbage and dead animals. The pier can also be used as a better fishing spot out in deeper water. Actual pier would be a simple 5-6 ft wide by 50-100 yards long running parallel to the beach. It would have a safety fence from the bottom of the pier down to the lake bed. Also, railings along the outer side. Simple and inexpensive. Was just going to s nd the idea to the mayor if I got enough signatures but I think I'll try to get this up for vote now.
