Save Boy Scout Hill! White Rock Lake Dallas TX

Dear Mayor Rawlings, Dallas City Council, Dallas Parks Dept and Parks Board:

We do not want any further commercial development at White Rock Lake Park.

  • We do not want to trade this priceless place where people have gathered for generations to watch the sunset, picnic, fly kites and sit in a wildflower meadow for restaurants, shops, housing, amusements or any commercialization that is not completely temporary in nature. 

  • We want to enjoy this beautiful lakefront which belongs to all of us free of the noise, lights, litter and destruction of natural habit that further commercialization would bring.

  • People come from all over Dallas by bike, foot and car to enjoy this quiet, natural respite from urban life. It's an oasis and and an asset the city of Dallas is very fortunate to have. 

  • This park has Blackland Prairie and a designated State of Texas Parks and Wildlife Natural Habitat. Development of park land would destroy natural habitat in our park which is home to many animals and plant species.

  • Development would destroy views of the lake and destroy  beautiful green space that people enjoy every day. There are plenty of restaurants, shops and commercial development in Dallas.

  • There is only one White Rock Lake Park.

We say no to development at Boy Scout Hill and yes to preservation.

Today we have had great news. We have SAVED Boy Scout Hill!

Our work is not over. Now we need to take steps to preserve White Rock Lake Park without any further commercial development. The petition is being revised to reflect preservation of this park.
