Home Secretary Amber Rudd, come clean about your dodgy tax history!

"International transparency on tax matters is essential". UK Home Secretary Amber Rudd has previously spoken out publicly about the importance of open accountability when it comes to paying taxes. But the Home Secretary herself has a veiled history which links her to dodgy tax dealings.

Please sign this petition to demand that Home Secretary Amber Rudd publicly discloses all her historic connections to tax avoidance and tax havens. The public has the right to know the truth.

Leaked data has revealed that Ms Rudd was a director of Advanced Asset Allocation Fund and Advanced Asset Allocation Management, and co-director of Monticello plc. Monticello's co-director Mark O’Hanlon was jailed for 18 months in 2007 for a false statement about the firm’s prospects. Whilst there is no proof of direct wrongdoing by Rudd, her connections remain intentionally hidden from the public she is now supposed to serve.

Labour’s Jon Ashworth said: “It’s embarrassing for Theresa May’s Tories that another senior figure has been linked to tax havens ... People will be forgiven for wondering what the true picture is and they deserve an answer from Amber Rudd."

Please sign this petition to demand full transparency from our Home Secretary regarding her historic connections to tax avoidance and tax havens. As many of us continue to tighten our belts and go without the basics, the wealthiest and most powerful remain the least answerable. Together we can take a stand for tax accountability.

Home Secretary Amber Rudd:

I am writing today to urge you to fully disclose your historic connections with tax havens and tax avoidance.

Having yourself previously called for full transparency in such matters, it's important for you to lead by example.

Tax avoidance is one of the most costly issues facing UK society.

As many around the UK continue to struggle to get by honestly on very little, and feel the effects of public service cuts, we expect our leaders to be answerable for their own financial affairs and relationships.
