PLEASE HELP MAJOR! ANOTHER DOG SEIZED BY B.S.L.!

Major, a 3 and 1/2 year old Staffie x Boxer, escaped his home in Bristol and was picked up as a stray by the dog warden who took him to the pound. He has now been seized by police who have said that he is “of pit bull type”.

Nicole, Major’s mum, is a single mum of three and just wants her boy back with them.

Major is chipped neutered and insured as a staffie cross. He suffers separation anxiety so he is likely to be extremely stressed in kennels.

We are hoping to employ Dr. Kendal Shepherd to make an independent assessment and prove Major NOT to be of type. It’s the ONLY chance of reuniting Major, Nicole and the kids!

Breed-specific legislation (BSL) is a law that bans or restricts certain types of dogs based on their appearance, usually because they are perceived as “dangerous” breeds, i.e. Pit Bull Terrier, Japanese Tosa, Dogo Argentino and Fila Braziliero, or "types" of dogs - usually Staffie crosses. However, this law is opposed by the RSPCA and other animal welfare organisations because a dog's behaviour actually results from how it is treated, not its appearance.

PLEASE help Major go home to his family where he belongs by signing and sharing his petition!! Thank you all in advance xx
