John Plotkin was hired by SAIF Corporation in October of 2013 and officially took over the company, as President and CEO in February of 2014. He was selected out of more than 200 applicants and came very highly recommended by representatives of government, business and labor in Colorado, where he just concluded 11 months as the interim CEO of Pinnacol Assurance, Colorado’s state fund. In addition he is a partner in a business law firm in Denver and has served as the Chair and Vice-Chair on multiple boards for a variety of non-profits. Mr. Plotkin shut his life down in Denver and moved his wife and family to Oregon, to serve as SAIF’s CEO. He purchased a home in Portland and set out to be a good member of our community.
After just three short months, Mr. Plotkin, without reason, was asked by the Board of Directors to resign from his position at SAIF Corporation. When he declined resignation, he was publicly terminated in front of hundreds of current and former SAIF employees, members of the community, and SAIF business partners. It has come to light that he was the victim of a coup that was organized by a few select members of Executive Counsel and the former CEO of SAIF. This petition is to fight for our leader. In just three short months, Mr. Plotkin gave SAIF employees hope. He brought light to our organization. He cared about what we had to say and our input in the future of SAIF Corporation. He respected us. This was a positive change for employees, injured workers, policyholders, and Oregonians. It is time to stand up for what is right. It is time to right the wrongs done by SAIF’s board and executive team. I encourage all SAIF employees, EC, policyholders, agents, members of the communiy, and all Oregonians to send a message to the Governor. Lets bring positive leadership back to SAIF!!
