Shut Down the Illegal Slaughter Houses in the Miami-Dade Florida area

Following a story by John Zarrella of CNN regarding the rescue of
Freedom's Flight by Richard Couto I became aware of the dirty little secret that MIAMI-DADE officials and apparently officials in the state of Florida have known about for a very long time. They have ignored the illegal slaughter houses that are doing business in Florida, while some raids have now occurred no one has been arrested and only citations have been handed out. A raid was done on 01/21/10 however many of the animals were left with no running water as officials turned off all the utilities. One man, Richard Couto alone has taken it upon himself to bring this situation to light through his organization Animal Recovery Mission (ARM). He rescued Freedoms Flight (whose bloodlines can be traced to Seattle Slew and Secretariat) from sure death at the hands of the slaughter house owners and workers and nursed him back to health. Mr. Couto is one man on a mission who needs our help to get all the animals left in the slaughter houses out of these deplorable places. Help also is needed in the ongoing effort to close these establishments down. You are urged to sign this petition voicing your disgust about these illegal , abusive, horrible slaughter houses in hopes that once and for all the laws are enforced and the people behind the corporate entities and their employees are brought to justice and the animals are saved from sure horrific deaths.  For more information you may visit ARM at http://www.animalrecoverymission.org/

We the undersigned are hereby demanding that the illegal Slaughter Houses in the Miami-Dade and the entire state of Florida be shut down immediately. By allowing these illegal business's to remain in operation you as an official representative of Miami-Dade and the state of Florida are condoning these illegal activities and the senseless slaughtering of animals.
During the course of the closure (raids) of these business's you need to make arrangements to allow the removal by legal shelters, foster homes or individuals that have the ability and willingess to care for these animals until proper homes can be found for any animals found on these sites.
