Listen to Billie Eilish: Address Animal Agriculture at the United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26

The most important climate change conference in the world begins in just a few days - and yet a major contributor to greenhouse gas emissions is not on the agenda. Billie Eilish and other celebrities, along with Humane Society International, are calling on the United Nations to acknowledge the role of animal agriculture in global climate change.

Sign now to tell the United Nations: it is impossible to meet the Paris Agreement without fixing our global animal agricultural system! Address animal agriculture at COP26 in Scotland!

On top of the appalling conditions experienced by the animals themselves, factory farming contributes massively to greenhouse gas emissions. Factory-farmed animals are often fed high-energy crops, and the farms themselves require massive amounts of energy to cool, heat, and ventilate the confinement facilities. The slaughtering, processing, packing and transporting of animal products alone emits several millions of tonnes of CO2 every year. And perhaps worst of all, some of the world's oldest forests - including the Amazon - are being bulldozed at alarming rates to make way for more animal agriculture operations.

Climate change is already wreaking havoc on our planet's ecosystems, causing droughts in our most fertile cropland, and forcing mass migration. A recent report shows that unless governments take unprecedented action, over 200 million people could become climate refugees by 2050.

There is no way to fully address the dangers of climate change without tackling the horrors of factory farming. We must put pressure on members of the United Nations and tell them: the time is now to address animal agriculture and act on climate!
