One Job Should Be Enough. Marriott Is Exploiting Their Workers And It's Time For Change.

Marriott employees are on strike calling for fair pay and workplace protections. Marriott says it's "disappointed," but it can't be as disappointed as workers, who are calling on the chain to share some of its large revenues with them and keep them safer in the workplace.

Workers are striking because their union contract is expiring and they say Marriott is not negotiating in good faith. They want a pay increase to reflect the fact that many of them are forced to work multiple jobs to afford the cost of living and they're also concerned about job safety and security in light of environmental initiatives like the Green Choice program and the potential for automation of some tasks at hotel chains; while both of these things represent net positives in the long term, workers want to know how the hotel will help them with the transition in the short term.

Hotel workers are the largely unseen and unheard teams who make people's stays run seamlessly, from the people who change the sheets to those who buff the lobby floor and set up conference rooms for events. They're asking Marriott to work with them to address their workplace concerns, and now they're asking the public to partner with them in pressuring Marriott to do the right thing.

Join Marriott workers asking for fair pay and safe working conditions. Tell this international hotel chain that you won't be staying in a Marriott property until this issue is resolved and call on Marriott, a leader in the industry, to set a standard for other hotels to follow!
