I spoke with Keith Cartwright Tuesday 07/10 and the budget has been set to assist one 501c3 program $5,000. The final decision on who will receive the funding will be decided the end of July. Please send this to all your friends and families. LAST YEAR THE COUNTY AND CITY SAID THEY WOULD SUPPORT A NEW LOW-COST SPAY/NEUTER FACILITY HERE IN DUNLAP. "SEQUATCHIE VALLEY LOW-COST SPAY & NEUTER. RECENTLY JEAN BRYANT ALSO PETITION HELP FROM THE COUNTY AND CITY FOR A VOUCHER PROGRAM/ ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. "ANIMAL WELFARE NETWORK" WHICH HAS BASICALLY BEEN INACTIVE FOR 4 YEARS--KEITH CARTWRIGHT SAID ONLY ONE PROGRAM COULD BE AWARDED. WE NEED TO LET THE COUNTY AND CITY KNOW THAT THE CITIZENS OF DUNLAP WANT AND NEED A LOCAL SPAY/NEUTER FACILITY TO HELP WITH THE IMPACT OF STRAY AND UNWANTED LITTERS. I have been donated 21 stainless steel kennels and a mobile spay/neuter RV and other surgery equipment from Kathy Wright (PALS). I also have contacted Eileen with Wally's Friends concerning equipment she is selling. Jule Jacobson contacted me this past Monday and said to get her an amount and she will have the funding to purchase the items. the amount from the county and city will help the community with a low-cost spay and neuter option.
