Revoke the Vatican's Papal Bulls, Now!

Christendom's Papal Doctrine of Discovery; appropriately the Domination Doctrine dates back to the 15th century. It is the starting point for the oppression of Indigenous nations and peoples globally; e.g.Africa, Australia, India, New Zealand and in particularly the Western Hemisphere.

The Doctrine authorization came from Papal Bulls or "God's Will" concepts which sanctioned any means of domination such as genocide and enslavement. The goal was enrichment and wealth to Western European rulers and societies. The means was to overrun and profit from the lands and resources of the Original Nations of the continents. The Papal Bulls are still in effect. These historic conceptual and behavioral patterns are being used to maintain the institutions of domination.

Like California, Oregon first legislature established policies of genocide. Oregon's first legislative action was to enact a policy of removal of Tribal Nations in Western Oregon to the east side of the state. My Grandmother's people, the Ty t' nee pum owned, occupied and resided on both sides of the Willamette River from Oregon City to Portland. They were some of the first to experience domination by forcible removal, theft of their land and resources.

Today state and national legislators in the United States still invoke the Doctrine of Domination. The Trump Administration policies, case law and Supreme Court case law all use the Doctrine. This impacts American Indian Nations' sovereignty and and ability to govern. Sadly, US Indian Law school programs ignore the effect and influence of the Doctrine.

Several months ago through the invitation of the Vatican, the Chairman of the Yakima Nation Tribal Council along with other indigenous religious leaders visited the vatican. The Chairman carried a resolution from the Yakima Nation to Pope Francis calling for the him to revoke the papal bulls.

This is a call to action! Join the Yakima Nation, Chairman and me to call upon the Holy See of the Vatican, through Pope Francis to revoke the papal bulls that established the Doctrine of domination over six hundred years ago.
