Don't Let Missouri Redefine Marriage

In the latest stupid use of lawmakers' time and taxpayers money, Missouri makes a move that could outlaw marriage unless it happens in a church.

Sign on to demand this piece of legislation be dropped immediately.

State Rep. T.J. Berry, a Southern Baptist Deacon, came up with this absurd plan. He is calling to redefine all marriages that are not approved by a religious instiution and instead call them "domestic unions." Obviously this targets folks who are not religious, are LGBTQ, or that don't want to get married in a church. It also has negative consequences for LGBTQ folks -- the federal government doesn't recognize domestic partnerships for benefits such as taxation, Social Security and military spousal benefits.

I got married outside myself. This bill is an overstep and a silly use of time and energy.

Sign on to get this discriminatory legislation dropped and tell Barry to use his time on something that actually helps the people he represents.
