Each year the town of Port Hope brings together the community in and around Port Hope to participate in a popular spring event - Float your Fanny down the Ganny. A great event, but could be better if it was moved later and to the lower river as to not disrupt the wild trout making their annual migration from the Great Lakes. The event directly conflicts with spawning fish by disrupting critical habitat during a delicate time, the spawn. Let's show our support in protecting wildlife and continue to support the town of Port Hope in moving this event to the lower end of the river and/or at a time when wild steelhead are less vulnerable.
