Pet Owner Abandoned Their Dog in an Airport Parking Lot, Flying Off to Resort Vacation

When a pet owner in Pennsylvania recently tried to take their dog in the plane cabin with them on a flight to a "resort destination in Mexico," the owner chose to make the worst possible decision. They abandoned their dog in the parking lot of the airport, getting on the plane alone and simply flying away.

Airline staff had informed the customer they'd need to crate their dog and place the animal in the pet-specific cargo hold area, but the dog owner refused. Instead, afterwards, airport staff found the animal outside, discarded.

Local animal rescuers stepped in to help the animal, and are now searching for a new, more loving forever home.

Police have also charged the pet's (now former) owner with one misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.

Obviously this person cannot be trusted to love and care for an animal, since they so callously abandoned the poor pup to whatever fate awaited it, all so they could go on a fancy vacation. This individual should never be allowed to own pets again! Sign the petition!
