"Oops." This Politician Got Caught Saying the N-Word. Tell Her She Has No Place in Politics.

Oh, Mary, Mary, quite contrary…

Mary Ann Lisanti, Democratic delegate from Maryland's Harford County has a bone to pick. She was incensed, humiliated even, and she needed to let everyone know. That's how she found herself in the pickle she's in now.

The delegate told her colleague that, as a favor to a fellow politician, she was forced to stump in Prince George's County — a county that is not only majority black but also one of the wealthiest minority majority counties in the United States. But Ms. Lisanti didn't see it that way, she told her friend that the whole experience amounted to door-knocking in a "ni@@er district."

Apparently, she thought this type of language was OK for a politician to use referring to African-Americans. After news of her horrible comment leaked to the press, she did the usual perp walk to the mic and begged forgiveness, saying: "I am sickened that a word that is not in my vocabulary came out of my mouth……..It does not represent my belief system, my life's work or what is my heart."

Yeah right, and klansmen don't wear white hoods.

Lisanti's comfort in sharing this offensive word with her colleague says that she does indeed have no problems using the N-word and probably revels in it. What she said was hurtful to all Marylanders, but it was especially offensive to the people of Prince George's County, which is 65% black, and the 20% of her Harford County constituency, which is also African-American.

Lisanti has already been stripped of her leadership posts, but she really has no business being in politics at all if she harbors these hateful feelings for 20% of her county.

Please sign this petition and tell Mary Ann Lisanti it's time for her to go. Tell her to resign today.
