Help our Children get School Credit for learning their Mother Language: Persian/Farsi

Many of us Iranians and Iranian Americans live in the United States.  In order to bridge the gap between where we and our ancestors come from, and where we live today, we must keep our heritage alive.  We do so by teaching our 'Mother Language' and our culture to our children and any child willing to learn.  Educators, parents and children work hard and work together to make this happen.

According to The Center of Applied Linguistics "Historically in the United States, the strongest efforts for the teaching of heritage languages have occurred outside of mainstream schooling..."

It is time for change:  By signing this petition, you are acknowledging and supporting the fact that ALL 'Mother Languages,' not just Farsi, deserve the same recognition and should be credited just as foreign languages are when taught in elementary, middle school and high school.

We found that lobbying on this issue has dramatically increased our chances for the Bill to pass.
Now, we are asking for your support to help expedite the process.

Thank you
