Westporters should have a 'voice" in the size & cost of the Compo Beach Bathrooms

On November 14, 2018 the RTM approved spending $840,000 of taxpayer dollars for three (3) 189 sq ft unisex toilet rooms and one (1) 189 sq ft storage room in a 756 sq ft (21'x36'x13.5' tall) building. With 20 year bonding interest these 3 restrooms will cost Westport taxpayers over $1,100,000 or $370,000 per toilet room.

There are less expensive and more appropriate alternatives to this structure that include a:
·More sensible size
·More prudent & safer design
·More equitable location
·More reasonable cost

It is essential to have the residents of Westport (who pay for it, use it, and responsible for preserving our beach for future generations) determine this important, expensive, impactful and permanent decision in an anonymous and unbiased manner.
