STOP MAURITIUS FROM ABUSING DOGS

Over 20,000 pets and stray dogs are slayed annually in Mauritius by a government funded shelter that was originally started to show kindness and love to animals. The Mauritian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals snatches any dog in sight, even those napping on their own doorstep, in fact those who catch a dog even get bonuses for it. These pets are grabbed by a net and tossed into a hot truck where they await what's coming to them. They spend days in cages full of feces and rust, dogs whom disobey are punished with sharp metal rods, only those with wealthy owners have a chance to be bought back, the rest await their doom. These terrified dogs curl in the back of their cages, shaking, with the hope that they will be soon released, but instead the most horrific action comes next. After a few days they are to be sentenced to death in front of each other. One worker holds them down while another kills the dog by either a stab in the heart or electrocution, their legs tied in the air, experiencing a slow and very painful death alongside other innocent beloved animals. This is an unacceptable and inhuman way to control the dog population, the Mauritian Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals needs to be changed or stopped, because no creature deserves this amount of cruelty!!! Instead the animal population should be controlled with humane spay/neutering, and shelters to care for and rehome stray dogs.
