Trump Wants To Frack California's Public Lands

  • by: Judy Molland

On April 25 the Trump administration gave details of its plan to open up more than a million acres in California to oil drilling and hydraulic fracturing or fracking, including areas close to Sequoia, Kings Canyon and Yosemite National Parks.

The plan would end a 5-year moratorium on leasing federal land in the state to oil and gas developers.

It would also bring fracking to the state, even though there are so many known health and environmental risks associated with this process: the contamination of drinking water, the evaporation of toxic chemicals, the possibility of earthquakes.

This dangerous proposal must be halted. Please sign my petition demanding that the Trump administration withdraw their plan to open up over a million acres of California land to oil and gas development.
