Stop Murdering Lions!

African lion populations have dropped by 42% in the past 21 years, and they could soon go extinct, unless you do something.

Add your name if you want to protect all lions from trophy hunters, NOW!

"Populations of African lions have declined by 42 percent over the past 21 years, according to data released this week by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN)," reported Scientific American.

And lions are extinct in 26 African countries, according to Mother Nature Network.

Conservation efforts are making a difference, but it is still vital to protect wild populations, because "most of these southern populations live within fenced reserves which have reached their carrying capacity and can't support additional lion numbers," according to Scientific American.

They went on to say: "a growing international trade in lion parts has fueled lion poaching and commercial hunting.

"According to the Born Free Foundation, the number of lion parts and whole lions exported from Africa between 2009 and 2013 was double the amount shipped during the previous five years.

"This is currently legal under the Convention on Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), which allows lion trade under certain permits. Lion bones are used in traditional Asian medicine and have been in increasing demand to replace bones from tigers, which are in even worse shape than lions."

Mother Nature Network estimates the current Africa-wide wild lion population at approximately 20,000 individuals.

That is just about 10% of what there was a century ago. Let that sink in.

I know you can see how lions could soon be gone forever, if this horrifying trend continues.

That's why we're calling on the Pan African Parliament to do whatever it takes to ban trophy hunting of lions across the whole continent.

Don't you want to stop this cruel, heartless practice of murdering rare lions for fun?

Then add your name to ask Malik Hussein, Chairperson of the Committee on Rural Economy Agriculture, Natural Resources and Environment for the Pan African Parliament, to introduce a motion to protect lions from trophy hunting all across the continent!
