Protect the Monarch Butterflies

Due to human activity and pesticide use, 80% of the monarch population has fallen in the past two decades, according to the Center for Biological Diversity (CBD). "60 Million Acres of Monarch Habitat to Be Doused with Weed Killer," set to destroy the butterflies' main & favorite nutritional source, milkweed. This could push the population into an absolute crisis, and anyone who understands gardening and landscaping knows that butterflies are one of the most critical species which determines the success of an ecosystem and biome. Therefore let us raise our voice in collective protest to this abominable choice and stop a catastrophe ahead of time:

"In 2017, there were reports of at least 3.6 million acres of off-target, dicamba-induced damage to agricultural crops and an unknown amount of damage to native plants and habitats, including forests. There's no question that use of dicamba across tens of millions of acres will deepen risks to our dangerously imperiled monarch populations," Donley said. "When dicamba's use on GE cotton and soybeans comes up for reapproval later this year, the only responsible thing for the EPA to do is allow that approval to expire."

We are all stewards of the Earth with a responsibility to protect her. Thank you. 🦋 http://econewsmedia.org/2018/03/08/report-60-million-acres-monarch-habitat-doused-weed-killer/
