1.2 million Americans are living with HIV and every year 50,000 more are newly infected. HIV is an almost entirely preventable disease that needlessly devastates families and communities across the U.S.
July is National HIV Awareness Month. Organizations and individuals are pledging to do what they can to re-ignite the national conversation about the domestic HIV epidemic with the ultimate goal of ending HIV in America.
We must create broad-scale public awareness of HIV in America and work to end the stigma and discrimination. We need to engage new stakeholders in the fight so we can prevent new HIV infections, provide access to treatment and care for everyone living with HIV, and support research to find a cure.
