** UPDATE: The Seneca county A.D.A. has excused himself from the case. It will now be handled by the Yates county A.D.A. Also the trappers lawyer tried to have the case dismissed because the care taker at the depot Randy Bataglia told them they could trap any way they wanted to. But the DEC said no because they still have to follow the NY.S. trapping laws. **
Molly Rose was a Pure Bread Yellow Lab that was home born and raised that was Brutally killed by an illegal 220 Connabear trap set in a man made hole 1/8 of a mile North of the Mount Green Cemetery on the Seneca Army Depot fence. She was being walked by her owner Laurena Jensen on a 6 foot leash with a harness her owner is an 18 year old FLCC Student going to collage for Environmental Science on Christmas break.
The Seneca county Sheriff Dept. after their investigation turned everything over to the DEC.
The DEC charged Jim Brown and Clint Moose man with 12 counts of illegal trapping.
The DEC and the Seneca County Sheriff Dept. filed no charges for the IDA property owner.
The DEC did not charge these men with Vandalism for cutting the holes in the fence or for digging the holes under the fence.
The DEC did not charge the men with the Misdemeanor Article # 353-a 2 Animal Cruelty charge for killing Molly and the coyote, there should have been 2.
The DEC turned the case over to the Seneca county Assistant DA.
In court the trappers pleaded not guilty and the Assistant DA quoted “This is equal to fishing without a license!”
Please help us get JUSTICE FOR MOLLY ROSE.
If you think that this is not equal to fishing without a license and the two men should be charged with the Misdemeanor Animal Cruelty also Criminal charges for the Vandalism of cutting the holes in the Depot fence, also the property owners The IDA should be charged with the same charges as the trappers for allowing this to happen on their property.
