Demand Gas Companies Tell Colorado Residents About Oil Spills!

  • by: A. Ward
  • recipient: COLORADO OIL & GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION

According to a recent analysis, Colorado is experiencing at least 2 oil and gas spills everyday! To make bad matters worse, residents are not being informed of these dangerous spills!

The analysis goes on to report that of the 2500 spills since 2010, 21% have contaminated ground and surface waters. In spite of new rules dictating that gas companies must notify the Oil and Gas Commission of spills greater than 210 gallons, this information is not being relayed to the area residents who are directly affected!

Tell the Colorado Oil and Gas Commission and Gas Companies to stop hiding dangerous water contamination and demand that oil and gas spills be publicly announced to Colorado residents!

Attn: COLORADO OIL & GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION

Water contamination is a dangerous health risk to humans and the environment. Recent reports indicate that a shocking 21% of Colorado water ways have been contaminated by gas and oil spills!

We (the undersigned) respectfully ask that in addition to the new rules stating the COLORADO OIL & GAS CONSERVATION COMMISSION being notified of oil and gas spills, that all Colorado residents living in the affected areas be notified of each and every spill!

Sincerely
