Land developers think they can rule the counties in which they are developing. It's time for us - the citizens - to stop them.
In Florida, many of the counties are being overpopulated and overdeveloped. Commissioners are supposed to make sure infrastructure is there to support this growth.. AND ITS NOT HAPPENING.
In Sarasota County alone, several citizens have chosen to fight back... please support this petition...
STOP the overdevelopment
STOP the overcrowding
STOP the destruction of the natural vegetation
STOP the destruction of wildlife and their habitat
STOP additional road projects when they haven't been vetted properly
STOP the developers from bullying our Commissioners
PROTECT the wildlife - protected gopher tortoises, protected sand hill cranes, endangered Floria panther, protected scrub jays
PROTECT the land
AVOID additional flooding. With every new concrete section placed, we lose the ability for water to naturally drain, therefore flooding our streets, our homes. Leaving us in devastation.
VERIFY Floridians have proper and safe evacuation routes in place
It's time to make government - the Commissioners - listen TO THE PEOPLE and their concerns, rather than being bullied by the developers to keep growing exponentially.
Please let us show our County Commissioners that the developing needs to slow down. We need to reassess and make sure that the proper storm water infrastructure is there. Our top priority should be our people, the wildlife, and the land. Developers and their greed should not be part of this conversation. It's time for us to say "no."

Show the County Commissioners that they work for us as the officials that we put in office. Keep a watchdog program to make sure that those Commissioners are doing and following the proper rules and regulations put in place by the county and state and federal.
