Stop The Re-zoning of Zion Lutheran Church

Zion Lutheran Church located at 10 Deerfield Road is proposing to re-zone its property from R-1 (single-family homes) to R-5 (multiple-family dwelling structures). If they re-zone the property, it will enable the church and their developer to build two buildings containing 25 apartment units. The proposed re-zoning request constitutes "spot zoning" which would create a high-density multi-family development in the midst of single family residences which is not in keeping with the character of the overall neighborhood, current zoning, and future land plan within the Village of Deerfield. To that end, this application must be rejected.

Thanks to everyone for signing our online petition. The Plan Commission hearing on the Zion Woods re-zoning proposal is confirmed for next Thursday June 28 at 730pm. The meeting will be held at Village Hall (850 Waukegan Road – Franz Council Chambers).

We need to show the plan commission that we have critical mass and oppose this zoning change. Everyone's participation and attendance at the June 28th meeting is critical. Thank you!
