Urge South Africa to Stop Issuing Hunting Licenses

While conservation authorities are desperately trying to save the dwindling populations of endangered species in South Africa, one can still legally hunt White Rhino, Elephant, Giraffes, Lions and other large game.

It is time that the South African Government puts a stop to this by refusing to issue hunting licenses and rather concentrates its efforts to truly conserve these animals for future generations.

On the one hand there is a huge outcry about the Rhino Poaching Scurge in South Africa but on the other the Government still issues licenses and allows trophy hunting.  This hardly contributes to conservation and only serves to fill the pockets of hunt organisers.

To the Honourable Ministers of Environmental Affairs and Tourism

RE: STOP THE ISSUE OF HUNTING LICENSES

We request that all Hunting Licenses are stopped.  Especially for the hunting of White Rhino.  Our endangered species are being poached to extinction and Legal Trophy Hunting hardly adds to the conservation effort.

Please stop the madness, the bit of income generated by these hunts can  be doubled by effective wildlife safaris where the only hunting weapon is a camera.  And the animals can be shot with cameras again and again without harm to them.

The animals have a right to dignity too, so please give it to them.

Yours faithfully
