Demand that Netflix transfer DVDs to another service and not landfill them

Netflix is ending their DVD service in September, and, according to CNN, "it has no plans to sell the DVD business and declined to share how it plans to dispose of the discs."

This is alarming news on multiple fronts. Also according to CNN, "many digital rentals don't come with special features or audio commentaries. There are other factors, too. Michael Inouye, an analyst at ABI Research, said some consumers may still not have access to reliable or fast enough broadband connections, or simply prefer physical media to digital, much in the way that some audio enthusiasts still purchase and collect CDs and records. Other households may also own cars that still have DVD players inside."

Please join me in telling Netflix to reconsider their plans to end the service, even if it means charging more for it for those who would like to continue participating, and, if they won't do this, to transfer or sell the disks to another service, such as Redbox, so they will continue to be available, and, under no circumstances send the disks to landfill as a result of their current plans.
