The 3-3-13 Schenectady Gazette announced that " Albany - NY wildlife officials have proposed expanded hunting for bobcats as their population continues to grow upstate (NY).  The Dept. of Environmental Conversation estimates there are 5,000 bobcats in New York." " The agency is taking public comment until April 5th on plans to open several areas in the SouthernTier for hunting and trapping and make some changes to the seasons for both those activities."

Dear Governor Cuomo,
Encon officials in NY  have proposed expanded hunting for bobcats as their population continues to grow upstate (NY).  As reported in the 3-3-13 Schenectady Gazette, The Dept. of Environmental Conversation estimates there are 5,000 bobcats in New York. This number does not seem to warrant increasing the slaughter of bobcats in the State . The Department of Environmental Conservation is taking public comment until April 5th on plans to open several areas in the SouthernTier for hunting and trapping. I would like to voice my objection to the increased killing of the animal which is known to have been in the State longer than we have. Many pelts are being sent abroad for processing. We should conserve our wildlife resources for the future.  Thank you.
