Viral Photos Show Hospital Staff Giving a Baby the Middle Finger

Navy corpsmen Allyson Thompson and Joanie Barrett, both staff members at Naval Hospital Jacksonville, are facing consequences after photos showing them inappropriately playing with babies went viral.

The photos were originally shared on Snapchat, after which concerned viewers posted them to Facebook. In one photo, a woman is seen giving a baby the middle finger with the caption, "How I feel about these mini Satans.” The other photo shows another woman holding a baby up and it is taken from a video of her making the baby “dance” to rap music.

Naval Hospital Jackson called the incident “outrageous, unacceptable, [and] incredibly unprofessional” and announced that the two staffers were removed from patient care and now face legal action.

Though they have been removed from providing direct patient care, it appears that they remain on staff. The fact is, they have shown a complete lack of judgment, compassion, and respect, and should not be allowed to continue working in a facility that provides patient care even if they are not doing it themselves.

Please sign this petition to make sure that Thompson and Barrett are kept far away from the patients of Naval Hospital Jackson and hospitals everywhere.
