Stop Postal Code Discrimination In Government-Funded Fertility Treatments

In December 2015 Ontario launched a $70 million fertility program which aimed at increasing accessibility of fertility treatment.

Since the initiation of the program, more than 28,000 people have utilized IVF, IUI and FP services, at the cost of $70 million a year. While these numbers are quite impressive, the reality is that these funded fertility treatments are out of reach for many.

The funded treatment are only available in 48 clinics and accessing these services is greatly depended on where you live. This leaves many in growing cities like Peterborough, Fergus, Cambridge and Guelph without access to funded treatments.

The only solution for people in these areas is either to travel to another city in hope to be added to their wait list or to pay out of pocket.

Infertility affects 1 in 6 couples and spans all socioeconomic, racial, ethnic, and religious groups.
Starting a family is a basic right and so is equal access to fertility treatments.

It is time to make fertility treatments more accessible and affordable to everyone!

It is time for a change and we need your help!
