Pfizer has plans to quadruple the price of booster shots next year, aiming for a price range of $110 to $130 a dose. It is highly alarming, yet unsurprising, that the corporation would move to further monetize the pandemic — especially when the future of COVID care remains uncertain.
The price gouge is aimed to make up for the weaker demand for booster shots, but the decision could easily cause competitors to raise their pricing as well. It's a slippery slope that will only line the pockets of already greedy big wigs, to the tune of an extra $2.5 billion dollars in revenue.

There's no reason that the company needs that much extra revenue, especially when their products and services are tied to public health. The upcharge is a 10,000% markup over what the estimated cost of production is per shot, and has been called "daylight robbery" — it absolutely is.
This sets a dangerous precedent for vaccine production in the future, and it needs to be made more than clear that such actions will not be accepted.
