No Pet Cheetahs in the Burningtown Community!

Today I verified with the Macon Couty Building & Zoning Department that Mr. Robert Miller of 420 Spring Creek Road in the Lower Burningtown community of Franklin, North Carolina is building enclosures to house 12 (twelve) cheetahs. Although Mr. Miller may very well be a conservationist and animal lover, the residents and neighbors are concerned about this needless acquisition of exotic cats when there are only 12,000-15,000 cheetahs left in the wild.
It is unknown whether these animals are rescued or being imported from their native lands. It is known that North Carolina is one of four states that does not regulate the ownership of exotic cats, unfortunately, so therefore Mr. Robert Miller is within his legal rights to acquire these beautiful animals.
Our concerns are with the possibility of one or more escaping its enclosure(s) and preying on newborn calves in neighboring pastures and/or domesticated house pets. Although cheetahs are the more timid and shy of the exotic cat family, it is still within the realm of possibilty that this could happen.
If you are against Mr. John Miller acquiring these animals which should best be left in the wild or in a rescue sanctuary, please sign the petition. Thank you for caring about our community!
