Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner and other famous friends recently took a trip to Pig Island in the Bahamas, where they fed and snapped numerous photos of the pigs who inhabit the island.

- The famous crew fed pigs slices of white bread — but feeding the pigs anything other than fruits and vegetables may cause them to die,
or charge at you in search of more food.
- These pigs are actually a tourist attraction, and are regularly killed
in order to keep the population down. The locals then eat the meat. Pigs can have TWENTY
piglets per year, and they can start having babies when they’re just a year and a half old.
- Pigs need sunscreen or mud
(not something widely available on a tropical island) or else they are at risk of numerous skin problems, including burns and skin cancer.
One woman who visited
the island said she noticed "abrasions on their skin. I looked closer and saw that the skin on their snouts was peeling, and they had little scabs and marks on their tiny heads."
- The pigs bite at tourists in their frantic quest for food,
indicating they rely on tourists for food and don't have enough to eat.
- The pigs don’t have shelter from the sun, rain, storms and hurricanes.
As the blogger put it upon visiting: "I realized that this is an animal tourist attraction not a whole lot different from the orcas imprisoned at SeaWorld or the orangutans at a zoo."
Please sign this petition to demand Kendall Jenner and Bella Hadid make this right — the least they can do is make a donation that would include sunblock and money to neuter the male pigs, provide shelter to protect them from the storms, and assign someone to look out for their care and wellbeing.
