Happy New Ear

URGENT!! Please sign our petition to present to Minister James Reilly asking him to provide funding for bilateral cochlear implants for deaf children in Ireland.

At present, children in Ireland get one implant, even though it is recognised as International best practice even by our own HSE to implant children with two implants. After all we have two ears for a reason.

Please support our campaign to give our children a chance to reach their potential. As the auditory nerve dies when not stimulated, we are running out of time fast for our little ones.

Be part of something great, sign this petition xxxx

Dear Minister Reilly,

Please allocate funding for bilateral cochlear implants for Irish deaf children immediately.

Recognised as best practice and recommended by the HSE in the Audiology report 2009, it is a disgrace that two implants are not accessible in Ireland.

With the event of Newborn screening last year, you have a real chance to complete the process and change our children's futures.

We urge you to see how implanting children on both sides will save money right through their lives. We ask you to be forward thinking and champion this issue. We ask you to imagine that your child could be helped with a device that exists and that you couldn't access.

Most of all we ask you to help us and allocate funding for bilateral implants, both sequential and simultaneous immediately.
